My name is Lexie G . I am from Queens , New York. I attended elementary school in Jamaica queens and stayed at my grandmas home as a child , grew up, moved to queensbridge ; home to many Rap legends, the remainder of my childhood and teenage years. My mother is Italian and black , my father is Trinidadian . I was raised with a lot of musical influences in my family. The island background developed me into a more diverse artist. Listening to soca/calypso , dancehall and reggae music growing up along with many other genres. My parents were hip hop and R&B heads , it gave me so much passion and love for music. I started rapping and writing at age 12 , stepped in my uncles booth and never looked back since. Growing up in queensbridge houses gave me that edge , I was raised in the concrete jungle and coming from the same block as my rap influences gave me inspiration. I had something to look forward to. I knew I would make it , i saw myself in them.'
